The so called “revolutions of the 1989” made this a year without precedents. Fall of the Berlin Wall, the birth of the first written proposal for the World Wide Web and of course the birth of G-Star Raw. To celebrate this outstanding year we decided to introduce an outstanding new Fit based on our most authentic Men’s Fit, the Type 49 Relaxed. This fit and details are reminiscent of origins of jeans.

Type 89

This classic 3x1 right hand twill construction offers a unique cast. The warp dyed yarns fades due to the innate sulphur dye feature, while the weft remains black. This enhances the unique two-tone effect of this black denim.

Universe Black Denim

fibres are derived from sustainably sourced wood pulp and, by using less water and closed loops for process chemicals, have a lower environmental impact than conventional lyocell.

By choosing products that contain Cotton (BCI), you are supporting the Better Cotton Initiative’s mission to help cotton communities survive and thrive, while protecting and restoring the environment. BCI applies a mass balance system, which means that the cotton is mixed with conventional cotton in a complex supply chain. Because the end product may therefore not actually contain Better Cotton, we choose not to rank it.

Jeans Type 89 is designed in a genuine loose fit that we have based on our most authentic men’s fit: the Type 49 relaxed jeans. These mid waist jeans offer a bit of room for seat and thighs, proceeding in a straight leg.
