WHERE ICONS COME FROM
The most lasting silhouettes were built under limits. Cockpits demanded shorter cuts. Trenches demanded mobility. Tropical climates demanded breathability and fast drying. When the purpose is clear, the design stays clear.
The G-S004 Bomber is based on the USAF L-2B, originally made as a lighter alternative to the MA 1 and designed with a high visibility lining that could be reversed for rescue. We keep the classic bomber shape and bring it into a clean, modern build. The G-S005 Dismounted Raincoat comes from the 1940s military raincoat worn by American forces in Europe, known for its simple line and function. We translate that into an A-line, extra-long coat with a clean collar and an easy, wearable silhouette.

ARCHETYPES: CODES OF CRAFT
The G-STAR archive is not a museum. It’s a blueprint. Archetypes translated that thinking into a premium collection drawn from denim, military, and workwear heritage where function shaped every choice. Across 25 pieces, archival silhouettes are reworked through refined materials, modern techniques, and purposeful detailing. Each garment includes an internal label: denim pieces explain the fabric; others trace the archetype history. Past forward, timeless origins transformed for today.
BUILT TO STACK
Archetypes are designed around coordination. Each piece is considered and functional on its own, but stronger when combined across weather, movement, and daily use.
The G-S002 Field Jacket is the standout. Worn by the US 10th Mountain Division, it hid a built-in backpack in the back panel; straps included, ready for action without extra gear. We bring that idea forward with clean pocketing and an adjustable waist that lets you shape it your way. Pair it with the G-S008 M-51 Cargos, inspired by an outer shell pant made for extreme cold, now reworked with everyday pockets and an adjustable hem for a modern utility finish.

FUNCTION BECOMES CULTURE
When garments leave their original context, they gain a new meaning. What began as uniform is now worn as a personal statement, shaped by the culture around it. Archetypes track that shift without turning it into nostalgia, keeping the purpose while updating the execution. At the center is denim: premium selvedge from specialist mills in Japan and Italy, chosen for their durable structure, depth, and the way they transform over time.
The G-S020 Marseille Blazer carries that evolution in its shape. Blazers were built for formality and team identity. Over time it moved into daily life, becoming less about rules and more about attitude. We rebuild it in premium selvedge denim, giving the silhouette a sharper structure and a fabric story that improves with wear. The G-S025 Deeggie Jeans follow a similar path. Denim started as pure function, made to last. Then it became a language of self-expression. The Deeggie keeps a relaxed and straight silhouette, upgraded in premium selvedge denim chosen for depth, durability, and character over time.
