SUSTAINABLE OPERATIONS

Objective

G-Star aims to reduce its direct impact on the environment, in particular by focusing on minimising carbon emissions. The initial focus will be on G-Star’s emissions at the global operations level. However, we are also aware that an important part of our emissions arise from the production of our garments; an area which will be addressed in the near future.

G-Star is committed to reduce our absolute footprint over a certain period of time. Therefore, the carbon footprint has been measured by a team of external experts. In parallel, we obtained data on the current office behaviour. On the basis of these data, G-Star developed a series of tools to raise awareness amongst our employees of the need to embrace sustainable office behaviours. 

Performance so far

Using the results of these two parallel projects – carbon footprint and data on current office behaviour- we are currently in the processes of developing a detailed and long-term environmental strategy. As part of our work in progress, we will focus on additional focus areas as our plans unfold.
