Community Involvement
GSRD Foundation
Through our sourcing and production activities, we are connected to farmers, factories and workers in several developing countries and communities. G-Star aims to support these communities by becoming involved. Not only indirectly by contributing to employment opportunities, but also directly by supporting local social projects in these countries. Our ultimate goal is to improve the long term prospects for these communities.
In order to achieve this goal, G-Star founded the GSRD Foundation in 2007. Following extensive consultation, it was apparent that the best way G-Star could make a positive impact was by assisting with the development and future economic independence of people within these communities. By allocating funds to the GSRD Foundation, we support via our partners in several developing countries:
1) Children and young people by providing education and vocational training that will help them and their families to have a better future;
2) Entrepreneurs to pursue their business dreams. G-Star wants to encourage people with great ideas to start a business by providing grants, loans and knowledge.
G-Star believes that by supporting children and entrepreneurs, we can help make parts of the developing world a better place. At the same time, by doing so, we directly contribute to two of the eight United Nation’s Millennium Development Goals: achieving universal primary education and eradicating extreme poverty and hunger.
UNMC Partnership
G-Star partners with the United Nations Millennium Campaign to raise awareness on the eight Millennium Development Goals in the End Poverty campaign.
G-Star founded the GSRD foundation to make a valuable contribution to the development and economic independence of people in order to improve their situation by supporting projects to educate children and stimulate and support entrepreneurs. Our foundation’s goals are closely linked to the eight Millennium Development Goals. Therefore, we think it is an honor to in partner with the United Nations Millennium campaign to raise awareness and support the Millennium Development Goals.
